Album Review: Forever In A Day

Artist: Day26
Rating: 4 Stars
"It's legit enough to let the listeners know that they are growing and will eventually hit that ultimate status."
I f*&#ks with the new Day26 album! At first listen, I was thinking "Oh shit! What did I buy!?!" All that fighting took away from the music! But, being that it's Day26 and I loved their first album I gave it a second, third, fourth, and so on listen. Finally, the album started flowing together for me.
With the exception of "Just Getting Started", "Shawty Wats Up", & "Need That", I am LOVING their new album. Now don't get me wrong, it's not the Ultimate RnB Album with certified babymakers, even though the track "babymaker" was pretty smooth, but it's legit enough to let the listeners know that they are growing and will eventually hit that ultimate status.
If you're looking to get lyrically and emotionally lost for a few, I suggest you play this album through your speakers and get comfortable because Day26 will take you there!

Book Club: Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man.

In Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, Steve lets women inside the mindset of a man and sheds lights on concepts and questions such as:
- The Ninety Day Rule: Ford requires it of its employees. Should you require it of your man?
- How to spot a mama's boy and what if anything you can do about it.
- When to introduce the kids. And what to read into the first interaction between your date and your kids.
- The five questions every woman should ask a man to determine how serious he is.
- And more...

Hopped up out the beeedddd!!
- Grow Intellectually - It doesn't make any sense ( cents ) to be a fly chick with no brains. This includes deleting cursing from my vocabulary and finding something of substance to say in replace of it.
- Increase the Digital Hustle - Get back on my Graphic Design hustle. Graduation time is nearing and I need to start making a name for myself.
- Network - Meeting new people from different walks of life is always a good look. You never know when the person next to you may be of some help in the future.
- Get Healthy - The hardest thing is to have enough self discipline and motivation to just get out of bed to go to the gym. Pushing myself to do that will help me become more well rounded in other areas as well.
- Never Get Caught Slippin' - This is to basically stay up on all of what I find myself falling behind on. Whether it's music, trends, schoolwork, some emotional issues, whatever.
- Make Sacrifices for Fashion - This is last on the list, but I place so much priority on things I shouldn't be worried about at 21. Fashion is coming first financially.
Album Review: Love vs Money
Album: Love vs MoneyArtist: The-Dream
Rating: 4 Stars
"[The Album] flows from one song to the next like one long story. The ending of one song is the beginning of the next song." - Shatara
As with most albums, I give myself a 3-4 day grace period. I rarely fully love any album when I first hear it. The vibe of this album was more up tempo than the last and featured some downside effects of relationships in comparison to The-Dream's first album. I would say that Dream delivered and surpassed my expectations for his second album. It's still a toss up between Shatara and myself as to whether this album is better than Love and Hate. However, this album would get my vote because I could play it from beginning to end whereas I found myself skipping several tracks on the previous album.
Top 3 Tracks:
9. Love vs. Money: Part 2
You give her money, She wants love
You give her love, Shes back at money
She'll run from man to man
Makin plans to plan
No secret ya'll know who we talkin bout
Dream got angry on em' on this track! It's always exciting to hear an r&b singer show aggression because it makes the song that much more real. Also, this song is a direct continuation from Love vs Money and shows my "emotional stages" theory in full effect. Dream goes from sadness to anger and back.
11. Right Side of My Brain
You touch me baby, then you untouch me baby
You feed me your lies, words like mine
You want me baby, then you unwant me baby
Outsmart me baby, and I'm back on crazy
Any song that leaves me feeling the emotions the singer felt is a winner in my book.
12. Mr. Yeah
She said all these ni**as be poppin' that bullsh**
But I be in it like a preacher in a pulpit
It ain't they fault cause I'm sure that they mean you well
But everytime they fail she runs right back to Mr. Yeah
Dream was going hard on this track too. It was reminiscent to Pleasure's "Boyfriend #2" with being the fall back dude. Great beat and this track goes hard in the car as well.
